Rockies Lose By a Run at Chicago, 4-3
|
The Chicago Cubs picked up a win at Wrigley Field, knocking off the Colorado Rockies, 4-3. Starting pitcher Chris Ray played a key role in the triumph. George Poirier notched his 22nd save in 24 chances. Chicago has now won 5 games in a row.
Early in the game, catcher Terry Tuckfard had a bases-clearing double for Chicago. It was his 17th double of the season and put the Cubs on top, 3-0.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Chicago manager Mergatroid Skittle.
