Colorado Avalanche hurler Randy Rowland was stingy with runs in his latest outing against the Miami Beach Marlins, shutting them out 7-0 on 2 hits.

"Randy was very aggressive tonight," Colorado manager Roberto Beltran said. "He threw everything he had with a lot of confidence."

Through 9 innings, Rowland tallied 16 strikeouts and allowed no walks.

"He was throwing strikes with all his pitches and mixing it up well," losing manager Jermaine Mitchell said. "Rowland has a sneaky fastball, and whatever that off-speed pitch was, it was keeping our timing off."

On the year Rowland has compiled a 14-0 mark with a 1.06 ERA.
