Diamondbacks Slap 5-3 Loss on Braves
|
Arizona starter Murphy Quirk had a strong outing against the Atlanta Braves at Turner Field. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 5-3 win. The winning pitcher was Quirk, now 10-6. He tossed 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 8. Rich Ortega notched his 19th save in 24 chances.
David Price Jr., the 25-year old third baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Price Jr. contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the second inning to put Arizona up, 2-0.
Price Jr. called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."
With the win, Arizona pushed its record to 66-39.
