Laris, Kelowna Prevail in Pitchers' Duel
|
Kelowna right-hander Cortez Laris made an effective start against the Oakland Oaks at Oakland Oaks Grounds, leading his team to a 1-0 win. Orlando Braber was credited with the save for Kelowna, his 17th of the season. The second-place Heat have won 4 consecutive games.
Laris earned the win to move to 12-4. In his 8-inning performance, he scattered 1 hits, striking out 6 and walking 1. The right-hander allowed the Oaks few scoring opportunities.
"I liked his command," said Kelowna manager Tim Esmay. "Cortez was throwing strikes."
