Braves Turn Back Colorado, 7-5
|
Colorado shortstop Ricardo Ortiz had a good game, even if his team did not. The Avalanche dropped a 7-5 decision to Americus at The Big Americus Stadium. Ortiz went 1 for 2 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Tony Acevedo got the save, his 17th in 20 chances. At 81-54, the Braves are currently second in the Western League Central Division.
Early in the game, second baseman Ray Hubbard had a grand slam home run for Americus. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Braves on top, 6-2.
"Every win gets us closer to our ultimate goal," said Hubbard.
