Casas Hits 2 home runs in Blue Jays Win
|
No one was more impactful than David Casas in the 7-1 Toronto win over Detroit. Casas, who finished 4th in the AL in hits with 207 last year, went 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Toronto has 3 straight wins, Detroit 7 straight losses.
With Toronto leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Casas hit a fastball from Franz Holzknecht for a 2-run home run. It was his 21st home run of the season and put the Blue Jays ahead, 3-0.
Casas attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
