Pirates Get 5-2 Win Versus Philadelphia (APP)
|
Conditions were not ideal but Bristol and Philadelphia (APP) were able to put their game in the books.
The Philadelphia (APP) Phillies got a superb performance from pitcher Tony Botello. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Bristol. The Pirates won the game, 5-2. In spite of the loss, Botello was named the player of the game. He threw 5 innings of shutout ball. After today's action, Bristol sits at 72-69, while Philadelphia (APP) falls to 103-35.
Bristol shortstop Elijah Waller produced at a critical juncture. It happened in the top of the eighth with Armando Avila on the mound and Bristol leading 3-2. Waller drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
"We did a lot of things right," said Waller.
