Cubs Deal Pirates Painful Loss
|
The Chicago (APP) Cubs did just enough to sneak past the Bristol Pirates, 4-3, at Baseball City Complex. Chicago (APP) pitcher Adam Nielsen earned player of the game honors. Chicago (APP) reliever Kyle Hamilton picked up the win, bumping his record to 3-0. Lettel Schroeder was collared with the loss. With the win, Chicago (APP) goes to 59-85, while the Pirates fall to 77-70.
With the bases loaded in the bottom of the tenth, Jacob Nagle delivered the knockout blow when he drew a walk, driving in 1 run to win it for Chicago (APP). In the contest, Nagle drew 1 walk.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Bristol manager Daniel Seres.
