Brian Thomas never let the Yankees get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his knuckle curve, to pitch the Astros to a win, 1-0. Kyle McPeak earned his 8th save in 10 chances. The Astros sport a record of 38-71.

Thomas, a native of Little Rock, Arkansas, was dealing all game. He kept New York hitters off-balance, while giving the Astros 8 quality innings. Thomas threw 104 pitches, allowing 4 hits and striking out 5.

"Both teams played hard," said Houston manager Dave DaSilva.
