						Cardinals Deal Cubs 2-1 Loss
					 |

The St. Louis Cardinals did just enough to sneak past the Chicago Cubs, 2-1, at Wrigley Field. St. Louis pitcher Antonio Lacayo, in particular, had a standout performance. St. Louis pitcher Brad Jonas got the win. He's now 1-1. Steve DiDomenico was tagged with the loss. The win puts the Cardinals at 58-65, while the Cubs drop to 66-54.
St. Louis relied on the bat of Jordan Diaz to get the win. The left fielder ripped a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Cardinals ahead, 2-1. For the game, Diaz had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
Diaz said he was "thrilled" the fans had something to get excited about.
