Victory Takes Giants to 69-53
|
The San Francisco Giants trumped the San Diego Padres, 6-3, at AT&T Park. San Francisco third baseman Ryan Doss was terrific. He was 2 for 3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs. Andrew Kindig was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 27 of 29 save opportunities. San Francisco raised its record to 69-53 with the win.
Tom Best drew 1 walk for San Francisco. The 28-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring walk off Raul Almonte. It was his 42nd walk of the season.
Best told a San Francisco Today reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
