The Texas Rangers got a stellar performance from pitcher Gavin Nelson, who handcuffed the San Francisco offense en route to a win, 4-1, at Globe Life Park in Arlington. Nelson got the win, improving to 3-2. He allowed 6 hits and walked 2 over 6.1 innings. Nelson allowed no runs. Brad Kramer notched his 30th save in 37 chances.

Bobby Ayala took Mike Moon deep in the bottom of the first. His 2-run home run put the Rangers on top, 2-0. In all, Ayala had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"I like to lead by example," said Ayala. "I'm glad I could contribute to a good win."

With the victory, the Rangers upped their record to 77-46.
