The Miami Marlins got a superb performance from pitcher John Bialon. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Montreal. The Expos won the game, 4-3. Bialon threw 5.2 innings of 4-hit ball. Jakub Kvacek earned his 15th save in 18 chances. The second-place Expos have won 4 in a row.

It could have been a different outcome for Montreal, had it not been for C.J. Beavers, the former first round draft pick . Beavers contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put Montreal up, 4-3.

Beavers called the triumph "a good team win."
