The Texas Rangers got a superb performance from shortstop Jun Tsuda, but the Seattle Mariners still won the game, 9-7. Tsuda went 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times. Nate Jackson snagged the win in relief. In 2 innings, the right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit. He's now 3-8 on the season. Picking up the save was William de Jesus. Seattle used the timely hitting of Tony Vargas to capture the win. The catcher socked a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Mariners ahead, 6-5. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Vargas. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
