Mets Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Yankees
|
The New York Mets picked up a win at Yankee Stadium, knocking off the New York Yankees, 4-2. Starting pitcher Jeff Jank played a key role in the triumph. Sam Schrecengost got the save, his 4th in 5 chances. The victory gives the Mets a record of 64-64.
New York used the timely hitting of Jason Larson to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Mets on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Larson said after the game.
