Los Angeles Beats Oakland, 5-3
|
The Los Angeles Dodgers topped the Oakland Athletics, 5-3, in National League action at O.co Coliseum. The game was highlighted by the performance of Los Angeles pitcher Gyu-hyun Kim. The winning pitcher was Kim, now 6-8. He tossed 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 5 and fanning 4. Los Angeles has 4 straight wins, Oakland 3 straight losses.
Ben Mischnick had a big 2-run home run for the Dodgers in the top of the fourth inning. With Los Angeles leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a curveball from Nick Kirk and swatted a home run to center. It was his 16th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Dodgers ahead, 3-0.
"We're stringing together some nice wins," said Los Angeles manager Hank Collins.
