						The Boston Red Sox beat the Kansas City Royals, 8-0, at Kauffman Stadium. The Red Sox got a fine performance from shortstop Alois Wollf, who hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Reece Nichols picked up the win, improving his season record to 13-8. He struck out 8 in 7.1 innings. With the victory, the Red Sox upped their record to 72-64.
  Kevin McCormic Jr., the 23-year old first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. McCormic Jr. contributed a 2-run  triple in the top of the fourth inning to put Boston up, 3-0.
