5 Straight Wins for Nationals
The Washington Nationals stopped the Cincinnati Reds, 7-5, at Nationals Park. The Nationals got a big game from Danny Gerardo, who went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Jake Richards, 1-2, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. Kyle Bradley got the save, his 1st in 4 chances.

Gerardo came through with some timely hitting for Washington. With Cincinnati trailing 5-3 in the bottom of the sixth, Gerardo hit a first pitch splitter for a 3-run home run. His 6th home run of the season made it 6-5, Washington.

"We need to keep playing good baseball," Gerardo told the Washington Daily.

The last-place Nationals now have a 5-game winning streak.
