Reds Upend Indians, 6-1
|
Cincinnati Reds starter Jeff Baker pitched his team past the Cleveland Indians, 6-1. Baker went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 0, and struck out 6. His record improves to 10-8. The third-place Reds sport a record of 69-74.
Cincinnati used the bat of Chris Grunwald to get the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Reds ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Cincinnati manager Jimmy Silveira II.
