Rockies Take Down Dodgers, 8-6
|
Behind a fine performance from Jason Andrews, the Colorado Rockies knocked off the Los Angeles Dodgers, 8-6. Andrews was 2-3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3 for the Rockies. Mike Chapman, now 3-4, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 2 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 0. At 53-91, the Rockies find themselves in last place in the National League West Division.
The game was at a stalemate until shortstop Jon Munoz came to bat in the top of the 11th. Facing Los Angeles pitcher Sam Zegarelli, he hit a full count fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Colorado on top, 7-6.
"It's a satisfying feeling, to win like we did," said Andrews.
