Cardinals Squelch Cubs Offense in Shutout Win
					 |

A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Cubs.
John Fisher never let Chicago get something going. The St. Louis left-hander commanded his forkball in pitching the Cardinals to a 6-0 win. The winning pitcher was Fisher, now 5-7. He tossed 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 7.
Tom Butterbaugh dealt the Cubs a blow in the top of the third. Batting with the bases loaded and St. Louis leading 1-0, Butterbaugh hit a 1-1 fastball for a 2-run single.
"I had pretty good command out there," said Fisher.
St. Louis is last in the National League Central Division with a record of 65-81.
