Mariners Earn 4-3 Win Versus Rockies
|
The Seattle Mariners grabbed a win, 4-3, over the Colorado Rockies at Safeco Field. Seattle catcher Tony Vargas was 2-3 with 2 singles and 2 walks. The last-place Rockies have lost 4 consecutive games.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, Vargas hit a fastball from Bill Ogren for a run-scoring single. The Mariners, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"I like our moxie," said Mariners manager Aaron Schiff.
