The performance of Cody Schumacher proved critical in helping Texas beat Oakland, 9-3. The Rangers center fielder was 2-3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Shelby Rich closed the game out for Texas, earning his 1st save.

Texas relied on the hitting of Sean Geisler to pick up the win. The designated hitter ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the sixth inning to put the Rangers on top, 3-1. For the game, Geisler had 1 triple and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.

"We did more than enough to get the win," said Schumacher.
