Sigurdson Leads Atlanta to 2-0 Win
|
Citi Field hosted a real pitchers' duel.
Matt Sigurdson was a vital contributor to the 2-0 Atlanta victory over New York. The Braves catcher threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball. Victor Munoz got credit for the save for Atlanta. It was his 38th of the year.
Sigurdson was in the zone all game. He frustrated New York hitters while giving the Braves 8 innings of quality work. Sigurdson threw 86 pitches, allowing 2 hits and getting 3 punchouts.
"That's a solid team effort right there," said Sigurdson. "Everyone's feeling positive after that win."
The National League East Division-leading Braves are 78-72.
