Philadelphia Bats Go Silent in 5-0 Loss
|
The New York Mets beat the Philadelphia Phillies, 5-0. New York pitcher and Sewanee, Tennessee, native Ben Dicks led the way. New York has a record of 77-84, placing them second in the National League East Division.
The Mets got a big at-bat from second baseman Kevin Bellman, who in the bottom of the third hit a 2-run double. It was his 20th double of the season and put the Mets on top, 3-0.
"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Bellman told the New York Observer. "But we take nothing for granted."
