Cardinals Rally to Eke Out Win
|
Cleveland wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Douglas ten Pas, falling to the St. Louis Cardinals, 4-3. ten Pas threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. St. Louis, at 69-92, holds down last place in the National League Central Division.
The Cardinals procured the win, in large part because of first baseman Tenshou Takita. In the bottom of the tenth, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"This kind of game is tough on the heart," said winning manager Jeff Jones Jr..
