Expos Win at New York, 4-1
|
The 2046 season did not get off to quite the start the New York Yankees had hoped, with an opening day loss to the Montreal Expos at Yankee Stadium. The final score was 4-1. Starting Pitcher Jonathan Jackson was the top performer for Montreal. Earning his 1st save for Montreal was Jeff Urry.
Montreal relied on the bat of Mike Salmon to get the win. The designated hitter ripped a grand slam home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Expos ahead, 4-1. For the game, Salmon had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Jackson.
