5 Straight Wins for Cubs
|
The Chicago Cubs racked up a win at Busch Stadium, bumping off the St. Louis Cardinals, 6-3. Chris Ray, who started for Chicago, pitched effectively for his team. The Cubs, now 6-2, have played some good baseball in the early going.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Kevin Norton? The Chicago center fielder had a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Cubs on top, 4-0. For the game, Norton had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Chicago manager Mergatroid Skittle.
