4-3 Loss Extends Cleveland Skid
|
The Minnesota Twins topped the Cleveland Indians, 4-3, in American League action at Target Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of Minnesota pitcher Luis Sanchez. In 6.1 innings, Sanchez surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 10 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. Cleveland, at 2-11, is off to a poor start in 2046.
Bobby Ayala dealt the Indians a blow in the bottom of the fifth. Batting with a runner on 3rd and Minnesota leading 3-1, Ayala, who finished 3rd in the AL in on-base percentage with .485 in 2034, hit a 2-2 slider for a run-scoring single.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Sanchez said.
