Behind an impressive start by Ryan Sobocinski, Detroit beat Chicago, 5-1. Sobocinski got the win, improving to 1-1. He allowed 7 hits and walked 2 over 7.1 innings. Sobocinski allowed 1 run. The loss puts Chicago at 9-4.
The Tigers got a big at-bat from third baseman Ryan Neal. For the game, Neal was 1 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 3rd double of the season gave Detroit a 3-1 lead.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Neal.
