White Sox Bridle Tigers, 2-1
|
Chicago beat Detroit on the strength of starter Xenophon Valvis's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 2-1. Jerry JimAnez closed the game out for Chicago, earning his 1st save. The Tigers fall to 6-8 and continue their wobbly start to the 2046 season.
Chris Cooper, the fan favorite , had a direct impact on the outcome. Cooper contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the first inning to put Chicago up, 2-0.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Cooper said after the game.
