With shortstop Clay Buchanan leading the charge, the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates, 11-1, at PNC Park. Buchanan, who finished 4th in the NL in extra base hits with 80 in 2044, went 4 for 6 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. The loss drops the Pirates to 7-9.

With Los Angeles leading 2-0 in the top of the second, Buchanan hit a curveball from Vince Scripp for a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Dodgers ahead, 4-0.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Buchanan told a Los Angeles Gazette reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
