Phillies Down Mets, 7-5
|
The Philadelphia Phillies knocked off the New York Mets, 7-5, at Citizens Bank Park. Lance Franklin was a big reason Philadelphia won. The shortstop was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The win gives Philadelphia a record of 8-8.
Franklin contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Philadelphia in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 2-0, Franklin took a changeup from Jeff Jank and stroked the home run to right-center. His 3rd home run of the season allowed the Phillies to leap in front, 4-2.
"We played hard and won," said Franklin. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
