Cardinals Beat Milwaukee, 2-1
|
St. Louis got a first-rate effort from pitcher Geoff Mooney, who frustrated Milwaukee hitters en route to a 2-1 Cardinals triumph at Busch Stadium. St. Louis reliever Nick Suggett picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Brett Rosinsky was saddled with the loss. The loss has the Brewers at 8-11.
In the bottom of the third, with one out and the game tied, 0-0, second baseman Antoine Roux won it for St. Louis. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Roux hit a 1-1 fastball from Cody Autry for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 1-0 win.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Andy Pafko III.
