Twins Win at Boston, 5-1
|
The Boston Red Sox got a superb performance from pitcher Reece Nichols, but the Minnesota Twins still won the game, 5-1. Nichols threw 5.1 innings allowing 2 runs. Brian Bright notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. His record now sits at 2-0. The Red Sox fall to 8-13 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2046 season.
Minnesota relied on the hitting of Alejandro Soriano to pick up the win. The center fielder clubbed a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Twins on top, 3-1. For the game, Soriano had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We did a lot of things right," said Soriano.
