Diamondbacks Need Extra Innings to Top Dodgers, 3-1
|
The Arizona Diamondbacks and Los Angeles Dodgers put on quite a show.
Arizona left fielder Roy Steigerwald played a vital role in his team's 3-1 triumph over Los Angeles. He was 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for Arizona. Chris Baran, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 3rd save.
Steigerwald had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a 1-1 slider from Jon Harris, he banged a 2-run home run to right-center, giving the Diamondbacks a 3-1 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Steigerwald.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Arizona manager Jose Quintana.
The Dodgers drop to 10-16.
