5 Straight Wins for Blue Jays
|
The Toronto Blue Jays downed the Baltimore Orioles, 2-0, at Rogers Centre. The Blue Jays were led by Tommy Mize. He was 2-2 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Stacy Hootentootin got the win, improving to 2-2. He held the Orioles to no runs on 6 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 8 and walking 4. Junpei Yamazaki finished to wrap up his 2nd save.
With Toronto leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Mize hit a fastball from Randy Johnson Jr. for a solo home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Blue Jays ahead, 2-0.
"There's a lot of passion in our clubhouse," said Mize. "When we put it together we're a great ball club."
