Nationals Lose, 7-3, to Colorado
|
Nationals Park was the site for National League action featuring the Washington Nationals and Colorado Rockies.
The timely hitting of Eddie Quinones helped the Colorado Rockies down the Washington Nationals, 7-3. Quinones was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Rockies. Colorado starter Adrian Hamilton was credited with the win after throwing 100 pitches over 7 innings. His record now stands at 4-1.
With Colorado leading 3-2 in the top of the fifth, Quinones hit a curveball from Danny Diaz for a grand slam home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Rockies ahead, 7-2.
Quinones told the Colorado Today: "Sometimes the big stage is not big enough for me."
The loss has the Nationals at 14-14.
