Kantor 5-for-5 Against Gwinnett
Wednesday, April 25th , 2046
It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Kevin Kantor today -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage and sparkled on the diamond at Coolray Field, but the performance lost a little luster when the River Cats were downed 6-5 by the Gwinnett Braves.
After his glittering performance, the Sacramento second baseman told the press that he "just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat."
His batting theory paid dividends today as he slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book.
"I just wish we had added a win in the record book today, too," Kantor said.
Kevin Kantor singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Chong-hun Park in the 9th.
This year Kantor has collected a .314 batting average to date with 22 hits in 70 at-bats, 9 RBIs, 1 home run and scored 14 times. He has played in 21 games.
