Suspensions Handed Out for Bench-Clearing Brawl Monday, June 18th , 2046 After an intense confrontation, both the Chihuahuas Juan Martinez and the Isotopes Jonathon Crunk were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent El Paso-Albuquerque game. Juan Martinez will miss 2 games, while Jonathon Crunk was suspended for 6 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Juan Martinez commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." Presently Martinez is hitting .240 with 2 home runs and 21 RBIs. He has played in 61 games and scored 18 times. This season Crunk has a 5-1 record with a 2.51 ERA in 8 starts. |
