Diaz Joins 3-HR Club
Wednesday, August 8th , 2046
Robby Diaz went yard three times in a Omaha Storm Chasers victory over the Nashville Sounds at Herschel Greer Stadium today.
"I was in a groove," he said. "Every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit."
For the day, the Omaha right fielder went 3-for-4 against Nashville with 7 RBIs and 4 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting that led the Storm Chasers to the 11-6 win.
"I tell you what. I'm shocked because I didn't think that last ball had enough to get out," he told BNN reporters in the clubhouse following the game. "I thought it was just going to be a long out."
Robby Diaz hit a GRAND SLAM off Ben Voorhees in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Ben Voorhees in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Martin Goyer in the 8th and walked in the 9th.
This year Diaz is batting .281 with 18 home runs and 67 RBIs.
