Knights Warzecha and Bulls Hudson Suspended for Fight Friday, August 10th , 2046 Yesterday at BB&T Stadium Mike Warzecha and Eric Hudson got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Charlotte Knights and Durham Bulls. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Warzecha will have to sit out 4 while Hudson would be given a 2-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. To date, Warzecha has collected 36 hits for a .305 average. He has posted no home runs, scored 17 runs and driven in 10 runs. This season Hudson has chalked up a 2.45 ERA while ringing up 3 saves with 3 wins and 4 losses. He has made 28 relief appearances, pitching 29.1 innings, giving up 18 hits, and holding opponents to a .182 batting average. Hudson has also recorded 41 strikeouts and allowed 15 walks. |
