Dodgers Advance to Conference Championship Friday, October 12th , 2046 Oklahoma City designated hitter Tommy King couldn't hide his reaction when asked about being named MVP of the Division Championship. "It's a nice honor," he said, failing to suppress a wide smile. The trophy was presented to King moments after his club eliminated the Memphis Redbirds to advance to the Conference Championship. Oklahoma City won the final game by a score of 4-3 at AutoZone Park and took the series 4-2. "We won the series and that's the main thing," King said. "They were a tough team and we didn't want to take anything for granted." For the series, King hit .409 with a .480 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 3 runs. "He was tough to stop and that's a big reason they're there and we're here," said a dejected Memphis manager Jose Bautista. The Conference Championship matchups and schedule will be announced after the Division Championship finishes. |
