Trouble in Charlotte, Karnes Suffers Setback Thursday, November 1st , 2046 Charlotte starting pitcher Randy Karnes reportedly suffered a setback this week while rehabilitating a torn back muscle. Preliminary tests showed the injury had gotten worse and would need more time to be completely healed. An unidentified team official said it looked like it would be at least 2-3 months before Karnes would be able to return to the active roster. Karnes will see a specialist tomorrow. So far this year Karnes has made 22 starts, tossed 127.2 innings, struck out 155 batters and walked 40. His record is 7-5 with a 2.68 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .234 batting average. |
