League KO's Ports-Flying Squirrels Players with 8-Game Suspensions Thursday, January 19th , 2045 Nobody was hurt in a confrontation yesterday between the Ports Jonathan Gallup and the Flying Squirrels Chase Joy as both benches cleared during the fracas at Banner Island Ballpark. It appeared that there were a few punches thrown before the players could be separated. Today the league commissioner took action. The league decided to punish the guilty parties. Jonathan Gallup and Chase Joy will each have to sit out 8-game suspensions for their roles in this fight. This year Gallup is hitting .190 with 11 home runs and 20 RBIs in 40 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .297 with 19 walks and 19 runs scored. Thus far this season Joy has saved 0 games. His won-lost mark is no wins and 2 losses with 32 strikeouts in 26.1 innings, along with a 5.81 ERA. |
