Nuts Dominate, Sweep Round 1
Thursday, January 26th , 2045
Many baseball pundits expected a close series in the A Division Round 1. It turned out quite a bit different.
The Modesto Nuts swept aside the Potomac Nationals to advance to the Round 2, winning the final game by a 11-3 score at John Thurman Field.
The series MVP was left fielder Jeremy Brammer, who hit .429 with a .556 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 3 runs.
"We expected this series to go right down to the wire, so to sweep is a bit of a surprise," he said. "But we'll take it."
The Modesto Nuts don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Frederick Keys - High Desert Mavericks series. Frederick leads the series 1 game to 0. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
