Cardinals Cruise to Round 2 with Sweep Thursday, January 26th , 2045 The Palm Beach Cardinals have swept the Lake Elsinore Storm and are on to the Round 2. Palm Beach won 4-3 today at Lake Elsinore Diamond to clinch the Round 1. "We're happy to have put the dagger in when we had the chance," said Palm Beach third baseman Dave Cluster, who was named MVP for the series. "It could have been a tough series to finish if we let them start winning." Cluster won the award with a .600 batting average and a .750 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 2 runs. The Palm Beach Cardinals don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Carolina Mudcats - Stockton Ports series. That series is tied at 1 game each. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
