Matsui Laces 3 HR Against St. Lucie Thursday, January 11th , 2046 Bakersfield first baseman Taki Matsui blasted three homers today at Tradition Field in the 8-3 Blaze victory over the St. Lucie Mets. For the game, Taki Matsui scored 3 times and knocked in 5 runs. When he hit his last home run, his teammates, hearing the crack of the bat, leaped off the bench and rushed on the field to greet the jubilant Matsui when he reached home plate. "It was just one game, but it sure was a lot of fun -- 4-for-5, three roundtrippers and a win," a gleeful Matsui told BNN reporters in a postgame interview. "What a day." Taki Matsui hit a solo-shot off Jean-Pierre Carpentier in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Jean-Pierre Carpentier in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Jean-Pierre Carpentier in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and struck out in the 9th. This season Matsui is hitting at a .252 pace with 12 home runs, 32 RBIs and has scored 29 times. |
