Flying Tigers Come up Short of Playoffs

Josh E. Bell, the manager of the Lakeland Flying Tigers, said his players are "devastated" to have missed the playoffs. Today it became official -- the club has run out of games and was mathematically eliminated from qualifying.
The Flying Tigers have missed the playoffs 29 times in their 30 years as a California Winter League franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 28th in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 2017.
