Keys Prevail, as Round 1 Goes to the Wire
Tuesday, January 23rd , 2046
The Round 1 went the distance before it all was said and done.
The Frederick Keys and the Tampa Yankees went at it tooth-and-nail and when it was over at Harry Grove Stadium, the winner was the Keys.
They put away Tampa 3-2 to cinch the series and won the right to move onto the Division Series.
For his fine play, even in a losing effort, Tampa second baseman James Boynton was given the series Most Valuable Player Award. He hit .545, scored 4 runs and batted in 4 to win the honor.
"It's nice that someone noticed my numbers, but I'd trade it in a heartbeat for a win," he said.
The Division Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
